Siemens Energy and Air Liquide join forces to develop industrial scale electrolyzers
Exciting things are happening in the renewable energy industry as large companies are leading the way to a carbon-free future. Germany’s Siemens Energy and French industrial gases supplier Air Liquide SA (EPA:AI) join forces to create a 200-MW Air Liquide-H2V Normandy green hydrogen project in France. The collaboration will champion the PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) electrolysis technology to enable large-scale hydrogen projects creation and preparation for mass manufacturing of electrolyzers in Europe, particularly in the companies’ home countries.
“The partnership between Air Liquide and Siemens Energy paves the way for the creation of a leading European ecosystem capable of supplying decarbonised hydrogen at competitive prices and promoting the emergence of a low-carbon society,” said Benoit Potier, chairman and CEO of Air Liquide.
In addition to the announcement of this partnership to develop industrial scale electrolyzers, other green projects are underway too. The renewable energy future appears to be bright if these efforts towards reducing our carbon footprint continue.
